The night before the Rose Parade, the girls made some floats of their own.
Then Andy and I headed down to Pasadena to spend the evening with my friend Amy, while the girls celebrated New Years with Grandma and Grandpa.
The next morning, we all met back up for the parade. This is what the Rose Bowl looked like when Andy and I got to the parking lot at o' dark hundred.
Reunited in the stands.
My father waiting for the parade to start.
Along with Jesus.
And the painted-green Spartan guy.
Celestial good wishes.
The opening float.
Amalia's favorite part of the parade: cowgirls standing on horses.
Lily's: the Clydesdales.
Andy's: everything Stanford.
From the Tree, to the Dollies and the Band.
And, of course, the makeshift Stanford trash can accompanying the pooper scoopers.
Mine was seeing Vin Scully as the Grand Marshall.
Honorable mention to Daryl Hall.
And the pogo stick guys.
Honorable mention to Daryl Hall.
And the pogo stick guys.
After the parade, Andy and I headed back over to the Rose Bowl for the game.
Although the outcome wasn't as we'd hoped, it was still great fun to watch Stanford play in The Granddaddy of Them All.
