A trip to Nats Town

We took advantage of the combination of a Sunday afternoon baseball game and overcast skies to take in our first family trip to see the Washington Nationals play. It was Amalia's first game ever.

She got off to a rousing start. Note that today was free kids t-shirt day. Much better than an eye-bruising baseball.

The stadium has a pretty cool kids area, which is a lot of fun about an hour-and-a-half before the game. As it gets closer, Mommy gets overwhelmed by the number of people and needs to leave.

That's the Washington Monument way in the background.

This is the view from the Family Section. I guess they figure we're not really watching the game anyway.

The girls.

With the giant-headed Presidents. Amalia clinging to me for dear life.

Getting friendly with Abe.

All in all it was a pretty good inaugural MLB outing for Amalia. We found free on-street parking (compared to $20-$40 for the lots), Andy and I got half-smokes from Ben's Chili Bowl, and we made it close to 4 hours before we had to leave.
