Dyeing to dance

It's been quite the varied and busy weekend. The weather is hinting at spring and putting everyone in a bit of a brighter mood.

On Saturday night, Lily's school had its first-ever family fun night featuring pizza, music, and board games--and an environment of moderately controlled chaos. Here's Lily with her friend Claire Bear.

A montage of Amalia's dance moves.

Gabe and Lily taking a break from dancing to practice being in an old folks' home.

O 72!

True to her San Francisco roots, Lily has been bugging us to make tie-dyed shirts for weeks, and we finally got around to doing it. Ever the teacher, Andy is diagramming a color wheel to show Lily how to combine the dyes for maximum effect.

Jerry Garcia would be proud.

Psychedelic, man.

And to go along with the tie-dyed shirt, a barefoot guitar player.

Speaking of the benefits of being outside--our neighbor (but one we don't really know) who lives kitty corner from us saw the girls playing on our porch and came over to give Lily this (pink!) guitar. She was cleaning out her house in preparation for a dinner party. What a lucky girl. Seems fitting though, given that Lily had her first violin lesson yesterday. Music, music everywhere--and I can't argue with that.
